Protecting Jewish life
and Jewish way of life
The leading community-based security organization in the United States,
empowering Jewish institutions with training, guidance, and volunteer teams.
Who We Are
From the Community. For the Community.
The Community Security Service (CSS) is a national, apolitical 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to safeguarding the Jewish community. We provide free security training, guidance, and resources to empower institutions to protect their own against threats.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
In cities, we train Jewish young adults in advanced security techniques to protect community events as part of rapid deployment ROAM teams, which also offer a pathway into engagement in Jewish life.

SYNAGOGUE MEMBERS
At synagogues, we educate congregations in safety and security practices and provide advanced, ongoing training to volunteers to form CSS Synagogue teams that stand shift and protect Shabbat and holiday services.

College Students
On campus, we teach situational awareness, de-escalation and Krav Maga to cohorts of Jewish students to build confidence and deepen their connection to the Jewish community through our Krav and Kesher program.

Community Leaders
Through our Academy’s tiered, multi-day leadership courses and certifications, we empower qualified volunteers to lead teams, organize their communities, and expand our network by training others.
